Opening Craft in Atlanta was about putting down roots in the South, -says chef/owner Tom Colicchio-- All the right factors have to be in place, and the bottom line is, they were in Atlanta. It is a city I enjoy, and it has a great food culture.

The menu at Craft is straightforward and celebrates the very best local and artisanal ingredients prepared simply and executed to perfection. The dishes feature impeccably-sourced, regional seafood, meats and vegetables, and showcase them without heavy sauces or complicated presentations, but instead allow them to stand on their own. Architect Peter Bentel, AIA, whose firm Bentel and Bentel Architects and Planners has been behind the designs of all of the Craft restaurants, was inspired by ColicchioԳ approach to cooking and experimented with a limited set of architectural materials, using the simplest and best craftsmanship required to join them.

The result is a large, communal upstairs dining ro
